Goodbye David

Written on January 25, 2013 at 5:00 pm

It saddens us greatly to announce that we will be parting ways with our long time friend and bassist, David. After three years of traveling with us, David has decided to end his journey with Courage My Love.

Right off the bat, we want to assure everyone that there’s absolutely NO drama between the three of us. We’re all still friends and Davey will always be like a brother to the two of us. Life on the road is tough, and not everyone is cut out for it. As much as we all enjoy touring and being in a band, there are some sacrifices that we each have to make to do so. David has decided to spend more time with his family and loved ones.

While we’re all very sad to see him go, all we can do is support him as friends and respect his decision. We wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavours, whatever they might be.

In the mean time, we have gotten one of our very good friends to fill in for us on bass for all the live shows we have booked, and we’re excited to begin a new chapter in CML history.

We are still recording our new EP, which will be released in 2013, and performing all of our tour dates.

Despite this small set back, we’re all really excited for the year ahead. You can expect a lot of big things from CML coming soon, and we’re all just as stoked now as we were at the beginning of CML, if not MORE so.

David wanted to share a few words with you:
I will never be able to truly express what Courage My Love has meant to me, but I will try my best. When I started in the band I was a shy 17-year-old who had no idea who he really was. Over the course of the past 3 years Phoenix and Mercedes became like sisters to me. They helped me through a lot of hard times and were always there to support me. I can honestly say that I would not have become the person I am now without Phoenix and Mercedes. I would like to close by saying thank you to every single person that has supported me through the years, and to everyone who has supported us in any way over the past 3 years. To my loving parents Kirk and Lynne and my awesome sister Sarah; Thank you for realizing how much this meant to me and for supporting me since day one. I’m so happy I had the chance to meet so many amazing people along the way, and I’m sorry that I will never get to meet some of you. Thank you for making this journey one I will never forget. I love each and every one of you.
- David Blake-Dickson”

We want to thank all of you for your continued love and support and we can’t wait to see you on the road and online. Thanks for everything.

Love,

Mercedes & Phoenix
